Most Canadians will be rolling their clocks back this Sunday morning. However, BC Premiere John Horgan has told British Columbians that he believes this is the last fall those in our province will do so.
Canadians have been changing their clocks in the fall and spring for around 100 years. While Daylight Savings Time is supposed to save energy, there's little evidence that this goal is actually achieved.
The current plan is for British Columbians, Yukoners, Californians, Oregonians, and Washingtonians to roll back our clocks this Sunday and then spring ahead one last time on March 8th, 2020.
While BC and Yukon were prepared to eliminate Daylight Savings Time this fall, the aforementioned US states require Congressional approval before opting out. That approval has been hard to come by as Congress is currently preoccupied with other matters.
