As a young boy, Paul grew up on the mean streets of Edmonton, Alberta. The oldest of 27 children, he provided for his brothers and sisters by busting out his mad freestyle breakdancing skills. He would spin on his head for hours on end in exchange for tips from affluent Calgarian tourists. Paul was dedicated to his art and his family.
After many years of tireless dancing, Paul’s chiseled features and innate natural rhythm combined with fate to open a door. At the end of an especially productive day of kick outs, belly swims, and reverse airbabies, Paul was approached by a man with a vision. A vision that included five scrappy, down-and-out Edmontonians willing to hip hop their way out of poverty and into the hearts of fans worldwide. That vision was named... the Beatles.
The following years were a blur of shopping mall appearances, county fairs, and bingo halls. The hard work of the group paid off but just as the Beatles were set to embark on their first European tour, the ugly reality of show business was about to teach young Paul Poulsen a harsh lesson. The management team that handled the boy band unexpectedly cut him from the group.
“But what about my washboard abs? My 24" pythons? My thighs the size and consistency of tree trunks?” he yelled with his sexy Albertan accent. But it was too late. The Beatles left him standing on an Edmonton wharf, watching as his hopes and dreams steamed away into the vastness of the Alberta Ocean.
Such disappointment would have emotionally devistated a normal man but not Paul. He went back to the streets and he danced. He danced like a maniac! A maniac on the floor! Paul danced like he’d never danced before!
Before long, he was awash in tips. He left his brothers and sisters a nest egg before boarding a boat in search of a better life.
What followed is humanity's Best Of list...
- Paul invented the pencil;
- He served as Lee Majors’ stunt double;
- Paul married, divorced, re-married, and then re-divorced Wonder Woman;
- Most recently, Paul broke the first law of thermodynamics.
Despite all his success, one accomplishment eluded Paul. As a child, Paul had a love for film. But not just any film. A specific genre of film. Perhaps the most influential genre of film there is. Films about real estate.
Paul was again on the move, this time on his way to the real estate video capital of the world: BC's BEAUTIFUL Sunshine Coast. On the very day of his arrival, a chance waterskiing mishap with Realtor Tony Browton served as an inflection point that would forever alter the course of both their lives.
After moving to Gibsons, BC in 2014 and through a series of true stories nowhere near as compelling as the fiction you've just read, Paul and his wife/partner, Val, built the award-winning media company, Burnt Boat Media. Paul and Val have worked closely with Tony since January 2016, and in the fall of 2022, they became the exclusive marketing agency for Team True Blue.
Paul brings nearly two decades of marketing and media experience to Team True Blue. From shooting listing photos and videos to writing scripts and recording voiceovers, he's proud to say that every step of the home marketing process happens in-house with Team True Blue.
